In the early 50s, the grocery store where Mom shopped had a large rubber Elsie mounted high above the dairy section. It didn’t :moo” like later one did but it continually opened and closed its eyes and chewed it’s cud. Entering the store. Elsie was my first stop followed by sliding down the sawdust covered aisle toward the butcher shop. I still have the scar on my forehead where I fell and cut my head on a can that fell from the shelf. Another thing I liked to do was slide the plastic numbers around on the shelves until an employee explained to me that the numbers were price tags and I was making a lot of work for him. Great memories

Borden Dairy actually has a link for Where to Buy. It may be distributed in a much more limited area than it was originally. All add the link, but it may also be that the milk may be hard to find but there may be better distribution of some of their other products. Here’s the Where to Buy link from their site:
